I just made it for dinner and it is delicious! I added some chopped up crispy bacon to the sauce before I added the pasta ….. sooooo good 🙂

1/2lb of cheddar (Colby and then just ‘cheddar’) is listed twice–is this correct? I know you can never have too much cheese, but just wondering if a full pound is required. Thanks!

      Full Pound is Required

I’ve been looking EVERYWHERE for a Mac & Cheese recipe. I cannot tell you how many different recipes I’ve made. My husband is NOT a fan of “baked” Mac & Cheese. Yes, he prefers Kraft. (The horror!) I LOATHED Mac & Cheese before I tried homemade. (My mother wasn’t the homemaker, cooking type.) Kraft, Velveeta, any boxed kind. Just made me nauseous. I’ve been looking for a recipe we ALL like. I’ve found it! I waited with baited breath while my husband tried it. He went back for seconds! My kids love it, too! Thank you so much!

Hi! can you use low-fat milk (or even skim?) in the recipe?

    thanks!

I just made this recipe! However I mixed in the Parmesan cheese with the sauce and used melted butter and crushed townhouse crackers for the topping. It was rich, creamy and delicious! Home made Mac and cheese is one of my favorites and this has been my favorite recipe I’ve used in a while! Thanks!!

This recipe is fantastic! I had so much trouble keeping myself from eating it all before adding the topping and baking it! Made it for my boyfriend who is apparently very picky about his Mac n cheese. He went back for seconds:) pretty impressive!

    • Sara

I am so happy her liked it 🙂

  • Katie

So, panko bread crumbs arent gluten free… just saying. Wouldn’t recommend this recipe to someone with a gluten allergy like myself
